Koktebel, Aligote – vintage table white dry wine, made from grapes grown on own plantations of the plant “Koktebel”. In the production of wine, the berries are separated from the pits, peel and pulp and pressed. The resulting grape juice is sent to fermentation with selected yeast cultures that break down the sugar, producing alcohol and a number of substances that affect the taste and quality of the wine. Then the wine is aged in oak barrels for at least 2 years. When producing wines at the Koktebel plant, much attention is paid to naturalness, so the wines do not contain any artificial additives. Koktebel is a factory of vintage wines and cognacs, whose history dates back to 1879. Then the famous scientist-ophthalmologist Young bought out from the landowner Bakhtysh Murza Shirinsky 973 tithes of land. On the acquired slopes he planted the vineyards and started the construction of the winery. The case of Yunga was continued by his son – Alexander Eduardovich, who comprehended the secrets of creating excellent alcoholic beverages in Spain, Italy, Germany and France.

In 1924, the first state farm was founded in Otuzah, which in six years was divided into two separate manufactures. The leading sectors of these enterprises are viticulture and tobacco growing. The activities of state farms were discontinued in 1941 because of the outbreak of war. In 1944, after the liberation of the Crimea from the Nazis, the collective farms were reunited and transformed into a state farm “Koktebel” , which is today one of the most ambitious and high-tech in the whole of Ukraine. Koktebel craftsmen, when creating wines and cognacs, carefully observe long-term traditions. High quality of Koktebel plant’s products is confirmed by 122 gold, 40 silver, 11 bronze medals, as well as many diplomas and certificates awarded at international competitions and tastings.
