Description
Yarra Yering, Dry Red # 1, 2013 – a true heritage of the Victoria Valley with a reference to the style of Bordeaux wines. It is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Malbec and Petit Verdot varieties. The vineyards are located on the north side of the hill on well-drained soil. Vinification took place in small open fermentors, and aging in new French oak barrels for 22 months.
Carrodus equated the influence of wood with salt in porridge: “if it is felt, it makes the wine taste terrible . “ Yarra Yering, Dry Red # 1 stands out for its vibrant fruity currant tones, piquant complexity and fine-grained tannins. It easily withstands 10 to 15 years of extra aging, developing unusual playful exotic nuances.
