Description
“Tempo”, Morellino di Scansano is a red dry wine made from Sangiovese grape variety. Vineyards are located on clay soils with a high content of gravel in the Morellino di Scansano at an altitude of 100 meters above sea level. The average age of the vines is 14 years. Manual harvesting is carried out in September. Fermentation takes place at controlled temperature, which is maintained at 29-31 C. Maceration lasts 14 days. The wine lasts for 3 months. Annually about 60,000 bottles are produced.
Vintage 2008 was awarded a bronze medal at the prestigious “Decanter World Wine Awards” competition.
The Terre di Talamo estate is located in the Morellino di Scansano wine region in the south of Tuscany, in the Maremma region. The territory of the farm stretches for 52 hectares and is located on a hillside facing the sea, from which a magnificent view of the port of Talamone and Cape Argentario. Soils in this area are rather stony and consist mainly of brown clay. Vineyards occupy an area of about 32 hectares. Grapes grown here are Sangiovese, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Syrah, Alicante, Petit Verdot and Vermentino.
