Wine TerraMater, “Mater”, 2019, gift box

Description

“Mater” – elegant, soft full-bodied wine, created from a blend of carefully selected red grapes. Interestingly, the composition of the blend manufacturer keeps a secret, known only to the presence in the Cabernet Sauvignon. Grapes are grown on site Kaperana located on stony ground near the river Maipo. Low yield vines produces grapes of excellent quality with a full rich flavor and fruity aroma. Pacific breezes, cooling air terroir, contribute to the difference between day and night temperatures, as needed to achieve full maturity berries and rich color. Harvest takes 5-7 day cold maceration. Wine fermentation is performed at a controlled temperature of 28 C. After a 25-day maceration on the skins and malolactic fermentation in barriques, the wine is aged in new French oak barrels for 18 months.

In 1996, three older sisters Canepa – Gilda, Edda and Antonieta – realize their dream by opening a new winery TerraMater. A passion for wine production has been part of their lives, because the family Canepa in winemaking since the 1930’s. Once their father emigrated from Italy to Chile and to find that the fertile soils of the Chilean viticulture engage easily and efficiently acquired vineyards. Today his business, but under his own name, his daughter continued.
