Description
Terralsole, Brunello di Montalcino Riserva, 2007 – modern, multi-layered, rich, sensual Brunello, which the producer himself calls ” special wine” and ” five-star vintage” .
Sangiovese Grosso (or Brunello) grapes are grown in Montalcino on a plot of 12 hectares, broken at an altitude of 250 meters above sea level. Harvested by hand and hand-selected. The berries are placed in a grinder, where they are carefully crushed, and the must falls into a steel vat thanks to a gravitational system. Vinification includes maceration on the skins and fermentation with frequent pumping of the must at the very beginning. The fermentation temperature does not exceed 33 C and gradually decreases until the must and pulp are completely separated. Exposure takes place in two stages: first 18 months in 600-liter French oak barrels of Tronse and Allier, and then 15 months in 225-liter barriques. After bottling, the wine matures for another 12 months in the cellar of the winery. Wine storage potential is at least 15 years. Aeration is recommended before use.
