  • The range of wines “Scaia” got its name from the volcanic rocks that occur in layers of white limestone soils of the region Illasi Valley. Pink semi-dry wine Tenuta Sant’Antonio, “Scaia” Rosato, 2013 was made from grapes Rondinela. The vineyards are located at an altitude of 200-300 meters above sea level, the average age of the vines – 10-15 years. Harvesting is done by hand, then gently pressed the grapes and the resulting mass is subjected to the cold maceration. Wort Fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature in stainless steel tanks. Batonazh once a week, until the completion of malolactic fermentation. Kept the wine in steel tanks.

Winery Tenuta Sant’Antonio belongs to four brothers – Titian, Armando, Paolo and Massimo Castaeda. The winery is located in the eastern part of the Valpolicella area called Monte Gharbi, on behalf of the hill, near which it is located. Vineyards cover an area of 50 hectares, 20 hectares of which went to the brothers inherited from their father Antonio Castaeda, and 30 hectares were purchased by the brothers in 1989. The vineyards are planted along the slopes of Mezzana, Laban and San Martino Bon Albergo at an average altitude of 350 meters above sea level. Careful attention to viticulture and manual assembly harvest provide exceptional quality wines economy Sant’Antonio. Due to its commitment to excellence and a large area of vineyards, winery Tenuta Sant’Antonio is considered one of the biggest and best producers in the area of Valpolicella. At first the brothers Castaeda put the quality of their products. Yield is maintained at a low level to a maximum concentration of nutrients in grapes. Refuting the famous saying “a vine – one bottle of wine,” Castaeda brothers derive a new formula for the production of wine, “two vines – one bottle of wine.”
