Description
The vineyard “Sutherland” is located about 70 km southeast of Cape Town in the Overberg region. It is unique with its location on a high plateau surrounded by mountains. This area is famous for its apple orchards, and now it is gaining recognition with its fragrant white wines. The proximity to the sea with its cool breezes allows the grapes to ripen more slowly than in other regions of Cape Town.
Pure citrus and fruit tones in the wine taste of “Sutherland” Chardonnay are framed by creamy touches, which speaks for aging in oak barrels. In such a young wine, amazing complexity was demonstrated. Fermentation of grapes has passed with the addition of special yeast in French oak barrels. After an apple-milk fermentation, the wine is 10 months old on a sediment with regular stirring. Wine is consumed by young people for 4 years.
