  • Wine “Il Rosso del Abatsiio” is the first wine farm Serafini e Vidotto. Its name (in translation from the Italian language – “Red wine Abbey”) it must monastery, located on the territory of which the estate. Wine Il Rosso dell’Abazia released in 1988. It is made from several grape varieties, which are an excellent complement each other and create a unique composition. Vineyards are the southern and south-eastern exposure and are located at an altitude of 100-150 meters above sea level on the mountain, rocky soil. The average age of the vines 10 to 35 years. Merlot berries are collected in late September, Cabernet – in early October, Petit Verdot – in the second half of October. All harvest sorted and placed for fermentation and maceration for 6-8 days in stainless steel vats. The wine is aged in oak barrels for 20-24 months and in the bottle – from 10 to 12 months. Every year it produces 30 thousand bottles of excellent wine.

    In the XI century near the small Italian town of Nervesa della Battaglia was founded by Benedictine monastery Abazia di Nervesa, monks are engaged in viticulture and winemaking. The winery was very large and development. Existed before the beginning of the XX century, it was destroyed in 1918 during the First World War. In 1986, two friends – Francesco Serafini and Antonello Vidotto – decided to revive the ancient monastery winery. They are not just the best varieties of grapes planted, using the best farming methods. Finding old documents and maps, Serafini and Vidotto began to recreate the landscape, which was in those days. This affected not only architecture, but also vineyards.

    Company Serafini e Vidotto tries to revive the genetic heritage, engaging in the development and selection of local vines. This long and complex process is still ongoing. Farm owners are very careful to the nature and use only organic methods of winemaking. The grapes are harvested by hand and carefully sorted.
