Description
White semi-dry wine “Michelangelo da Caravaggio” created from Malvasia di Candia Aroma grapes grown in the Emilia region on ancient soil from red clay with deposits of iron and other mineral elements. Vineyards have a southern and southeast exposure. Harvested by hand, some grapes (about 20%) are harvested late to provide fruits with a higher concentration of sugar and aromatic substances. After separation from the crests, the berries are gently pressed. Fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature of 16 C for one month. Then the wine obtained from overripe grapes is kept for about twelve months in French oak barrels, and the rest ripens in steel tanks.
Romagnoli farm is located in the area of Piacenza. It is headed by Alessandro Perrini, who is very attentive and caring for the wine-growers, rightly believing that the best wines are born from the best grapes. Romagnoli – a winery with a young soul, very attentive to the traditions, but with a great desire to surprise.
Cantine Quattro Valli is a company whose history dates back to 1882 after the meeting between Perrini and the experienced Ferrari winemaker, which resulted in their further fruitful cooperation. In 1980, the winery was modernized, and two years later – the area of vineyards was expanded.
Today, Cantine Quattro Valli is a unique synthesis of innovation, experience and tradition. The company still recognizes only manual grape harvest and aging in oak barrels. This winery is included in the official list of tourist routes in Italy. Visitors can fully enjoy the originality of the nearby villages, the beauty of ancient castles and colorful taverns in which anyone can try the fine wine from the traditional grape varieties of the region Croatina and Malvasia, spilled into glasses straight from wood barrels.
