Chardonnay in Australia recently experienced a revival. A new trend to harvest Chardonnay little earlier usual time to keep a good natural acidity of berries, giving thus a clear wine style, more elegant than usual – a heavy fruit. The cool climate of Australia is very conducive to this, and the Mornington Peninsula is an ideal place for growing Chardonnay.
“Estate” Chardonnay 2010 – wine with a rich flavor and aroma characteristics. Vintage 2010 is considered to be exceptional, as warm and dry weather conditions this year have provided favorable conditions for grape development and maturation. The grapes for wine making is collected from three different vineyards economy. Bunches neatly pressed and sent to fermentation in French oak barrels, 30% of which were new. Maturation on lees in oak barrels for ten months with regular stirring twice a week gives you the opportunity to get rich, complex wine with good storage potential. Careful use of wood in the process of vinification does not violate the style of Australian Chardonnay, but adds in a bouquet of cream and nut flavors.
Paringa Estate was founded by winemaker Lindsay McCall in 1985 in the heart of the beautiful Mornington Peninsula, in the wine region of Victoria. Own vineyard farm, located right next to the winery – a small area of only 10 acres (4.2 ha.) It grown Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Shiraz and Pinot Gris. Also, since 2008 the winery leases a number of vineyards in other areas. In the year Paring Estate collects 220 tons of grapes from which produces 16,000 cases of wine. The current winery was built in 1998, on the upper level of the building is a restaurant that is very popular with locals and tourists. Paringa Estate is one of the most awarded wineries in Australia, especially famous for its Pinot Noir and Shiraz.
