Description
Wine “Pear Tree”, 2013 is a perfect balance of expressive notes of ripe pineapple, passion fruit and honeydew melon inherent variety Chenin Blanc, accentuated by elegant tones of peach and orange blossom, characteristic of the variety Viognier. Wine is a line of “Tree Series”, a concept which appeared due to remarkable trees growing in the garden estates Bellingham. “Pear Tree” received its name in honor of luxury pear-Patriarch of Manor Bellingham, which was planted back in 1710 and today is the oldest tree in South Africa, and the family proudly couple Podlashuk. Spreading tree branches are home to many birds, protects the garden and vineyards from insect – a fine example of cooperation of flora and fauna.
2013 differs abundant harvest of high-quality fruit, filled with juicy fruitiness and freshness. The grapes were harvested by hand in the early morning cool. Both varieties included in the blend “PEA Three” – Chenin Blanc and Viognier – underwent alcoholic fermentation using wild yeasts. Malolactic fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks. Wine is recommended to use for two years after bottling – the period when the fruit flavor is most pronounced.
Manor Bellingham (from the African “Bellinchamp” – “charming Field”) located in the valley of Franschhoek, in the foothills of the Groot Drakenstein. Founded in 1693 by the Dutchman Gerrit Janse van Vuuren, the estate has always been known for its intriguing wines with unique characteristics.
In 1943, the estate and the surrounding land has a new owner – Bernard Podlashuk, with the advent of Bellingham wines which have gained unprecedented popularity. There were lines of dry white wines-class, was released the first wine category Premiers Grands Crus, the first rose wine and the first wine from grapes of Shiraz.
Since then, much has changed in the estate – there are new cellar, modern equipment, developed new vineyards and released new line of wines, has won international acclaim. Remains unchanged high quality wines Bellingham, combining tradition of the South African wine and the latest technology.
