Wine Matsu, “El Viejo”, 2021, gift box, 1.5 L

Dry red wine “El Viejo” by Italian winery Matsu – the most concentrated and powerful wine tasting company in the triad. Aroma of ripe dark berries and spicy shades are sure to impress at this fantastic beverage elegant and full-bodied taste emphasizes the overall impression. Wine is made from grapes Tempranillo, harvested from the oldest vineyards of the Italian region of Toro. Ninety years old vines grown organic and biodynamic method, and a small number of different crops.
The grapes for the creation of “El Viejo” harvested by hand in the first fifteen days of October and delivered to the winery in small boxes. Fermentation in stainless steel vats with a capacity of 10,000 liters are realized for 3 weeks. Extract of wine takes place in French oak barrels for 16 months. To admirers fully able to assess the characteristics of wine before bottling “El Viejo” is not filtered and clarified. The wine can be consumed now or keep until 2027.

On the wine label depicts an elderly gentleman – the grandfather of the owner of the winery. The name of “El Viejo” is translated as “old” and embodies the wisdom embodied for thin glass bottles. The labels created by Matsu range of wines portraits of his father, grandfather and grandson. Each photo male winemakers three different generations transmits the particular nature of the drink series.
