  • “Santa Maria” – one of the newest wines from the house Frescobaldi, first produced in 2000. This wine with lively fruity character is ideal for any event. Vintage Sangiovese and Cabernet Sauvignon to create a wine “Santa Maria” is assembled by hand in the first half of September, held a 10-day maceration and fermentation in steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 30 C. Immediately after malolactic fermentation is carried alcohol for 10 days. Excerpt wine carried out in two stages: 10 months in stainless steel tanks and 2 months in bottle. Storage capacity of wine is 6 years.

In 1997, the family Frescobaldi acquired farm of Santa Maria, located in the area of Morellino di Scansano in the Maremma, just a few kilometers from the coast. These lands have attracted Frescobaldi ideal conditions for growing grapes and in the future – creating a wine in the best traditions of the family. Rich tuff soil and hot climate, moderated by sea breezes, contribute to optimal ripening grapes earlier than in other areas of Tuscany. Land with vines covers an area of 55 hectares on the south and south-west exposure at an altitude of 100 meters above sea level.
For over 700 years Frescobaldi family is engaged in cultivation of grapes, their name is closely connected with the history of art, culture and commerce of Tuscany. Frescobaldi always successfully combines extensive experience with innovation. In the XIV century they delivered their wines of the British royal family, as well as the courts of many European countries.

Since the second half of the XX century Frescobaldi were the main actors in the development of Tuscan wine, one of the first planted grape varieties such as Chardonnay, Cabernet, Merlot and Pinot using new techniques in the production of wine. At this time, there was a significant increase in the production of wine Frescobaldi family. In 1989 it was bought by the biggest economy in the region, Brunello, and in 1995 signed an agreement with a California winery joint venture in Tuscany for the production and distribution of Tuscan wines of the highest quality in the world market. But, despite the fact that for many years farming Marchesi de Frescobaldi has undergone many changes, it never changes hands, while remaining a family company. Frescobaldi have nine holdings located in the best areas of Tuscany, where are elite wines. Manufacture of wines made only from his grapes, exposure takes place in French oak barrels and stainless steel vats. Wine company Marchesi de Frescobaldi exported to more than 60 countries.
