Description

Lanzerac, Pinotage is a powerful, well-structured, complex wine with an excellent balance between fruit and woody hues, demonstrating Lanzerac’s extensive work experience with the proud South African variety Pinotage. Wine making grapes are grown in the Stellenbosch region on alluvial soils with a granite base. Age of vines ranges from 7 to 19 years. Crop is harvested by hand, selected, sorted and gently crushed. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks, and malolactic fermentation – in barrels. Aging wine in French oak barrels lasts 15 months. The good tannic structure of the wine will allow it to age extremely well. After 5-10 years, Pinotage will begin to acquire velvet density and luxurious shades of chocolate and caramel on the palate.
