Description
Kurtatsch, Lagrein is a red dry mono – varietal wine created from grapes of the same name grown in the Alto Adige zone. The soils of the site are rich in sandy rocks, clay, which gives the wine a slightly spicy, mineral notes. The vines used for making wine are at least 15 years old. The harvest is harvested by hand, the berries are destabilized, subjected to cold maceration and fermentation on the lees in steel tanks. The wine is aged for 6 months in Slavonian oak barrels.
Kurtach, Lagrain has a fresh, refined aroma and a pleasant, balanced, full taste with fresh tannins. It is recommended to serve it with grilled meat, sausages, mature cheeses.
The Kurtatsch winery is located in the southern part of South Tyrol. The area is characterized by a special microclimate. Summer temperatures in excess of 40 degrees Celsius are not uncommon, with warm autumn days alternating with cold nights. This allows growers to bring the grape ripeness to the “Hang Time” point, where optimum maturity coincides with excellent acidity. These grapes produce rich, intensely fruity, full-bodied red wines and elegant, floral and aromatic white wines. The vineyards of the farm are located on the slopes and hills at an altitude of 200 to 900 meters above sea level and are considered unique.
Kurtach wines are distinguished by their exclusivity, which is inextricably linked with their origin, and cannot be reproduced elsewhere. Most of the best wines in the world are made from grapes grown in calcareous soils. On the side of the mountain, where the Kurtatsch vineyards grow, soils with excellent drainage, predominantly calcareous, in some places mixed with clay. Winemakers use the most modern technologies in production: refrigeration equipment, stainless steel containers with fermentation temperature control sensors, new oak barrels for aging. Only perfectly healthy grapes are used for the production of wines. Before bottling, the wines are carefully examined by expert tasters. Due to their excellent quality, Kurtatsch wines have become popular among wine lovers far beyond the borders of the country.
