Description

“Kirchhugel” Cabernet Riservam, 2011 – red wine, which is produced from a blend of grape varieties Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc grown on limestone-clay soil in the region of Alto Adige. These grapes were imported from France in the second half of the XIX century. Having a warm climate slopes on which the vineyards Kurtatsch, could not be better approached for their cultivation. Winter snow and frost quickly go with these warm and loose soil. And though the summer heat and deprives Cabernet Sauvignon his fragile delicate fruitiness, but adds to it a bright color saturation and little heaviness in the taste. A spicy Pinot Franc can reach their full flavor with hints of herbs, spices and vegetables. For wines from Alto Adige is characterized by full-bodied, acidity and impressive stamina while in the bottle. Those who have the patience to wait a few years, will be rewarded with interesting aromas and flavors reminiscent of the tea ceremony spicy oriental notes of cedar, leather, tobacco, roasted hazelnuts, biscuits and dried blackberries.

Winery Kurtatsch is located in the southern part of South Tyrol. The area is characterized by a special microclimate. Summer temperatures over 40 degrees Celsius are not uncommon, warm autumn days alternating with cold nights. This allows manufacturers to bring the ripening of the grapes to the point of “Hang Time”, where the optimal maturity coincides with the excellent level of acidity. From such grapes get rich, intensely fruity, rich red wines and elegant, floral and fragrant white wine. Vineyards farms are located on the slopes and hills at an altitude of 200 to 900 meters above sea level and is considered to be unique.
