Description

Kanonkop Pinotage – full-bodied wine with a deep ruby color, showing aromas of blackberries, raspberries, plums, with a slight admixture of banana. Vine age of 50 is supported in the form of a bush to ensure optimal access to sunlight for maximum ripeness and contributes to the regulation of the crop. Vine Pinotage grapes planted in Kanonkope, were among the first used for commercial purposes in the Cape region. Kanonkop Pinotage wine was aged for 16 months in new French Nevers barrels with a capacity of 225 liters.

Kanonkop Pinotage 1997 is a wine auction, it is represented in the Russian market in strictly limited quantities, is a great opportunity for lovers of rare, titled wines to supplement their collection, as well as a great chance to make a unique gift.

Kanonkop estate is located on the western hills in the region Simonsberg Stelenbos. Today the winery owns a couple Joanne and Paul Krieg. Kanonkop is famous for its red wines, with Pinotage is 50% of total landings, Cabernet Sauvignon 35%, Merlot 7.5%, and the rest – Cabernet Franc. The main objective of Kanonkopa is to the good work done in the vineyards, wine cellar lasted. Experts call Kanonkop South African equivalent of Premier Cru or First Growth.
