Description
Thanks to its elegance and sophistication, High Road, Director’s Reserve wine is significantly different in style from the more affordable and easy to use The High Road, Classique. Both of them are made from the main Bordeaux grape varieties: Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Malbec and Cabernet Franc. After 2010, Petit Verdot was added to the blend, which successfully combined the three main varieties and allowed each of them to make their own contribution, but not dominate the others, while maintaining the integrity of the composition. Grapes purchased in the areas of Stellenbosch and Helderberg grow only on low-yielding vines, which contributes to a high concentration and intensity of future wine. All varieties were aged separately in 225-liter new French oak barriques for 16 months. Masterful blending has maintained a balance of fruit, structure and long-term exposure.
