Wine “Herencia Altes” l’Estel, Terra Alta DO

Description

“Herencia Altes” l’Estel, Terra Alta DO is a dry red wine made from Syrah, Garnacha and Carignano grapes grown in the company’s own vineyards. Soils – loamy with limestone and sandy impurities. The average age of the vines is 60 years. Harvested by hand in boxes of 18 kg, the berries are still sorted in the field. Then the berries are cooled to 3-5 C during the day. Cold maceration lasts about 5 days, and fermentation is carried out for 10-15 days at a controlled temperature of 23-26 C. Part of the wine fills in large oak barrels with a volume of 1200 l, and the rest during malolactic fermentation is in 300 liter barriques. After fermentation, the wine is aged in these barrels for another 12 months. Before bottling the wine is filtered.
