  • The most ancient traces of growing grapes in Valpolicella dated V century BC At the end of the XIX century was called the Valpolicella wine in France “extraordinary Italian wine.”

A rich blend of Valpolicella Classico from winery Gereri Ritstsardi consists of six red grape varieties grown in the commune of Negrar – one of the five communes of the Valpolicella Classico zone. Vineyards Poyega, Kalkarole, Rovereto and Vigolo, which are cultivated only red grape varieties occupy 25 hectares on the slopes of the hills, at an altitude of 190 to 300 meters above sea level. Soil is mainly clay and sand with high content of chalk. Cultivation takes place in compliance with all environmental principles, leaving, however, opportunities for experimentation. Age of vines – over 30 years. Stocking density from 1600 to 5000 vines per hectare. After harvest, the grapes are exempt from the ridges and crushed. 7-day alcoholic fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at controlled room temperature 25-30 C. After a short maceration, the wine is aged from 3 to 12 months on the lees in cement vats, enamel and stainless steel vats.

Winery Gereri Ritstsardi occurred in the Veneto region as a result of the union of two ancient and powerful Veronese wine producers: graphs Gereri – owners of the centuries-old manor in Bardolino vineyards and cellars, and graphs Ritstsardi who bought their vineyards in Negrar in 1678, built shortly thereafter cellar Poyega. Gereri family also owned a small farm in Dolce Valdadidzhe and place in Soave, vineyards and cellar in Kostedzhole – in the heart of the classic that was purchased in 1970.

Today, the company belongs to the family Guerrieri Rizzardi Ritstsardi. It remains a family business and owns vineyards in four areas for the production of Verona Classico wines Bardolino, Valpolicella, Soave and Valdadidzhe, being one of the largest landowners in the region. Office of the company is based in Gereri Ritstsardi Bardolino in a historic building, owned by the family since 1450 Gereri. All grapes are from our own vineyards, cultivated organically and in each region there is a cellar for vinification.
