Description
The wines of the “Rumbo” line were conceived as an ideal choice for travel and long trips. They must define the path and shape the vision. The wine label is adorned with the image of a compass, an essential attribute of any journey.
“Rumbo” Cabernet Sauvignon is a young Chilean red dry wine made from selected grapes of the Cabernet Sauvignon variety, which is grown in the vineyards of the 8 Valleys Wines estate in the Central Valley of Chile, rightfully considered the cradle of culture and traditions of the whole country. The local semi-arid Mediterranean climate with pronounced fluctuations in daily temperatures and loose soils give rise to rich wines with a special character. The harvested grapes undergo traditional vinification at a controlled temperature. To preserve the freshness and energy of the grapes, the entire vinification process is carried out in stainless steel tanks. The wine goes well with fried red and white meats, cheeses, spicy and stews, pasta and vegetables.
8 Valleys Wines is a family-owned winery founded in 2004 with the aim of showcasing the variety of terroirs and grape varieties that Chile has to offer, and presenting wines with an unparalleled value for money. The winery is located in the heart of the Chilean vineyards – in the Colchagua Valley. The winery owns vineyards throughout the Central Valley, offering wines from the most famous appellations such as Maipo, Colchagua, Casablanca, San Antonio and Curico. 8 Valleys Wines belongs to the Matetic family group.
Matetic is one of the finest wine estates in Chile, spread over a vast area in rolling hills. The Matetik family is of Croatian origin, but has lived in Chile for over 100 years. They were engaged in sheep breeding and animal husbandry. But in 1999, they acquired land in the Rosario Valley in San Antonio with ideal climatic and topographic conditions for growing red and white grapes, just 20 kilometers from the sea, with very high daily temperature fluctuations. A winery was built in 2004 and currently processes over 300,000 liters of wine. The vineyards are certified and follow biodynamic practices that have ranked Matetik wines among the best in Chile and have helped to gain recognition around the world. With a firm conviction in the importance of a strong professional team for leadership at every stage – from grape cultivation to wine production – the Matetik family works with professionals in their field to achieve the highest results. Their wines are quickly becoming famous. The varied selection of exciting wines that express the characteristics of the terroir are of remarkable quality.
