Wine Domaine du Castel, “Petit Castel”, 2019

Description

“Petit Castel” – Israeli red wine, made in the Bordeaux style. “Petit Castel” – sweet wine with a good balance of price and quality, created from grapes of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petit Verdot, Cabernet Franc and Malbec. After vinification “Petit Castel” aged 16 months in French oak barrels, placed in the rock cellars with controlled temperature. Wine is not filtered to preserve the full flavor and aroma. Wine storage capacity is seven years.

Domaine du Castel – a unique corner of France in the Holy Land. The winery is located 17 km from Jerusalem to Ramat Raziel. Economy in 1988 founded by Eli Ben-Zaken, and the first wine was made in 1992. Picturesque vineyards planted immediately after the winery, at an altitude of 700 meters above sea level. The local soil is ideal for the cultivation of the vine, and the Mediterranean climate provides full maturity. At fifteen hectares of vineyards are cultivated red Bordeaux varieties – Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Malbec and Petit Verdot. Here are cultivated white French varieties Viognier and Chardonnay. For the production of wine grapes used only with their vineyards. Harvested by hand and processed immediately. Used in the production of traditional Bordeaux methods. In the vineyard and in the winery working family members and local kibbutzniks keep kosher. All produced wine – kosher. Eli Ben-Zaken started with 600 bottles a year, and now the annual production is about 100,000 bottles. Domaine du Castel produces only three wines, but all three – the highest quality, which is highly appreciated by the most famous wine critics.
