Description
On the label of a semi-dry ros wine “Destalo” Rose, Vinho Verde DOC , a duck is depicted with a glass of wine. The gracefulness of the movements of a bird overturning a glass is comparable to the grace, lightness, freshness of a pink Vinho Verde. The sweetish aroma of young ros wine intertwines notes of citrus and strawberries, which wonderfully harmonize with the soft, slightly carbonated taste.
The wine is made from a blend of grapes of the autochthonous Portuguese varieties – Amaral, Viao and Borracal. Each variety brings its own flavor to the overall blend. Amaral gives the wine a ruby color, piquant aroma, bright, full taste. Vignao is a brightly colored variety, an autochthonous variety of the Douro region, from which the darkest, most opaque red wines are made and used to “tint” ros wines. Viao also gives the wine a high acidity and full body. Borrakal gives the final blend liveliness, vigor and energy.
