  • Gewurztraminer, Alto Adige – excellent full-bodied wine with a rich bouquet of fragrant and elegant creamy taste. Wine refers to the classic lineup of wines Colterenzio, it is perfect for everyday use and is excellent value for money.

Gewurztraminer is grown on the territory of the village at an altitude of 400-460 Girlan meters above sea level. Soil of the vineyard – mixed type of glacial origin, with a predominance of clay and volcanic rocks. Crushed grapes collected and sent to a cold maceration for several hours. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks, after which the wine is aged for a short time on the lees in stainless steel tanks. Wine storage capacity is 4 years.

Trentino-Alto Adige is not yet as famous as Tuscany or Piedmont or more known for its ski tourism than wine. But local winemakers applied every effort to achieve universal recognition and respect. South Tyrol – the region of contrasts: located on the border with Austria and Switzerland, where there are snow-capped mountains and green valleys, alpine and Mediterranean climates – a unique area for growing grapes with individual character, reflecting its origins.

The name of the cooperative Kolterentsio comes from the village near Kolterentsio Girlana. Here is one of Europe’s oldest vineyards planted by the Romans. Kolterentsio cooperative was founded in 1960, when 28 local farmers decided to join forces. Today, the cooperative has already involved more than 290 winemakers, which owns about 300 hectares of vineyards. As you know, the wine region of Trentino-Alto Adige has preferred Archduke Sigismund, who lived in the castle Firmian in the XV century, although there are still more earliest evidence of winemaking practices relating to the times of ancient Rome. According to manufacturers, such a long tradition imposes certain obligations – in their case it is necessary to be able to take bold decisions.

On the labels of wines Colterenzio depicts the silhouette of the XV century castle, built by Archduke Sigismund, who was a great connoisseur of wines and foster the development of vineyards in the area. Currently, this castle is almost destroyed.
