  • Wine “Clos Mogador” is named after the novel “Les Gens de Mogador” (“People of Mogador”), which was written by Ren Barbier grandmother and dedicated to the life of her family at the foot of Mount Ventoux. Later, the novel was made into a movie and had great success in France. Blend wine “Clos Mogador” consists of four grape varieties, and the percentage of grades vary from vintage to vintage. The grapes are grown on plots located on very steep terraces that form a giant natural amphitheater above the river Siurana at an altitude of 450 meters above sea level. Age vine Garnacha is more than 80 years. Other varieties were planted much later – in the early 1980s.

    In the production of wine “Clos Mogador” berries undergo a rigorous selection on two sorting tables. After destemming, crushing and macerating at cold temperature for 2 days, the fermentation of the wort begins with regular stirring tank fermentor is controlled at 30 C for 3-4 weeks. Then carried out with the removal of sediment, soft and begins spinning a secondary malolactic fermentation. The wine of 2011, more than 18 months aged in large French oak barrels, 70% of them – are new.     Clos Mogador farm owner, Rene Barbier, known for the fact that he restored to life the ancient vineyards of Priorat. Winery is located not far from the town of Gratallops, its vineyards occupy 13 hectares. Local soil rather loose and not very suitable for cultivation, but Rene Barbier hard caring for tens of thousands of vines, making vineyards provide excellent crop that is harvested by hand.
