Wine Casa di Terra, “Mosaico”, Bolgheri DOC, 2017

Description

Dry red wine “Mosaico” is made from Merlot grapes grown in Bolgheri. Vineyards with east-west exposure were laid out in 2004-2011. The soils of the plots are predominantly clayey with a high gravel content in deep layers, which provides excellent drainage. Planting density – 5,600 units / ha, yield does not exceed 8,000 kg / ha. Alcoholic fermentation, which lasts 22 days, takes place with the participation of only “wild” yeast in steel tankers with a temperature of 26-28 C. During the aging of the wine, spontaneous malolactic fermentation takes place. The wine matures for 12 months in French oak barrels. After bottling (without filtration), the wine “rests” in cool cellars for another six months.
