Description
Dry red wine Vino Nobile di Montepulciano Riserva DOCG made from grapes Sangiovese (95%), Cabernet Sauvignon (2.5%) and Merlot (2.5%), grown in Tuscany. Plots of 16 hectares located at an altitude of 300-400 meters above sea level; Vineyard exposure south east. Loose soil, clay and lime with the addition of the marl. The average age of the vines – 20 years. Manual harvesting begins in mid-September and ends in early October. Berries purified by ridges gently compressed, and then sent to a steel vats, where it is subjected to controlled alcohol fermentation by adding a yeast culture selected. Maceration lasts 16 days. Matured wine is first in French oak barrels of 5 hl for 18 months, then in large Slavonian oak barriques. Bottle maturation takes six months. Storage capacity of Vino Nobile di Montepulciano Riserva is a period of at least 10 years.
