  • Botter, “La di Motte” Pinot Grigio is a white semi-dry wine from the Pinot Grigio grape variety, which is grown in the company’s vineyards on the border of the Veneto and Friuli Venezia Giulia regions. The name of the wine refers to the topographical features of the area, “Motte” is the term used to refer to small hills, and “La di” in Friuli means “at home”, a clear invitation to enter the world of La di Motte special wines. The climate here is temperate, tempered by the influence of sea breezes, the Alpine chain protects the vineyards from the cold northerly winds. Winters are generally cold and humid, while summers are hot and sultry with average temperatures. Local wines from Pinot Grigio are fresh and vibrant. Harvested in early September. The grapes are sorted and softly pressed, the resulting wort is fermented for 15-20 days at a controlled temperature of 15-17 C in stainless steel tanks. Then the wine is aged on the lees at a temperature of 18-20 C in steel tanks until bottling. The wine goes well with a variety of fish dishes and cheeses.

Wine House “Botter” was founded by Carlo Botter in 1928. Initially, the House was engaged in the supply of barrels and large bottles of wine to retailers in the Veneto region, but with the arrival of the second generation of the family, bottling of wines under its own brand begins. Brothers Enzo, Giovanni and Arnaldo Botter strengthen their presence in the Italian market, expanding their supply area, and enter the Central European market, concluding contracts for the supply of wines to Belgium, Germany and Switzerland. The company’s wines are starting to participate in international competitions and are becoming more and more famous.

By the 80s of the XX century , Botter wines were already supplied to 25 countries of the world. The range of products is expanding, now, in addition to wines from the Veneto region, the company also offers wines from Piedmont, Tuscany, Lazio, Marche and Puglia. The family buys 100 hectares of beautiful vineyards in Motta di Livenza in the province of Treviso, on the border of Veneto and Friuli. In the 90s, the third generation of Botter mastered new branches of production – natural juices and other non-alcoholic drinks, which, as well as wines under the Botter brand, are becoming very popular in Belgium, Germany, Holland and France due to the highest quality.
Today the company continues to move forward, covering new Italian wine regions and sales markets. The “Botter” brand is already present in more than 40 countries of the world, not only in Europe, but also in the USA, Canada, Scandinavia. In their own estates in Motta, the current managers of the company – Luca, Anna and Alessandro Botter – have completely renovated the old farm, planted new vineyards and built a modern winery building.
