Description
The name of the line of wines “Boekenhoutskloof”, consonant with the name of the winery, derived from the word Boekenhout – growing only in the Cape beech wood, which is very valuable as material for fine furniture. The first vineyard with Semillon in Franchhoeke was planted Bukenhtskluf economy in 1902. For it was selected area with alluvial soils with a high content of loam in the riverbed Franchhoek.
