  • Monosortovoe dry red wine “Torre della Trappola” is made from Sangiovese grapes grown in the region of Brunello di Montalcino. Wine was born thanks to the fruitful collaboration with the master of the Castello Romitorio winery Barone Ricasoli – Carlo Ferrini. Fermentation of grapes took place in steel tanker at a controlled temperature 26-28 C. Maceration in contact with the skins lasted 20-30 days, then was filtered wort. First, the wine is aged 12 months in French oak barrels, followed by 14 months in Slovenian oak barrels. After bottling, the wine went further maturation for six months.

The weather conditions of the 2009 season were divided into two stages, which ultimately cancel each other. The season was characterized by heavy rains, which allowed to stock a lot of moisture in the soil. During the rainy season lasted longer than usual – until mid-July. In the summer, in the second stage of the climate, set a very dry and hot weather. However, the vast reserves of water accumulated during the rainy season, allowed to survive drought without appreciable loss. Grapes in August matured faster than in previous months, when the average rate was maintained. Vintage showed decent quality, high total acidity and extractives. Berries are abundant in polyphenols well balanced.
